Aeration
Aeration, commonly know as core aeration, is the naturally occurring process of air exchange between the soil and its surrounding atmosphere. Aeration removes small plugs from the thatch and soil, allowing air water, and nutrients to penetrate deeper into the soil. This in turn helps the grass to grow longer roots and a thicker thatch.

Aeration helps the lawn's health and vigor while reducing maintenance requirements. The following are some benefits of aeration:
-
Improved air exchange between the soil and atmosphere
-
Enhanced soil water uptake
-
Improved fertilizer uptake and use
-
Reduced water runoff and puddling
-
Improved turf grass rooting
-
Reduced soil compaction
-
Enhanced heat and drought stress tolerance
-
Improved resiliency and cushioning
-
Enhanced thatch breakdown.

*If you lawn needs over seeded, a good time to do this is after aeration.
